Step by step
- On planting day
Sow a Tray
Fill a shallow tray with 3 cm of damp compost, scatter seed thickly, press it in and cover with another tray for a few days. Soak the peas overnight first.

Uncover and Move to the Light
Seedlings appear in 3–6 days: take the cover off and stand the tray on a bright windowsill. Mist or water from below daily.
- 14–21 days after “Sow a Tray”
Snip and Eat
Cut with scissors just above the compost when the shoots are 5–10 cm tall. Take a photo for your journal!
- 0–7 days after “Snip and Eat”
Sow the Next Tray (optional)
Sow a fresh tray every week or two for a constant supply. Old compost goes on the compost heap.
