Step by step

  1. Early May – mid July · 3 weeks after the last spring frost

    Sow Seeds Outdoors

Sow thinly in drills where they are to grow. Sow on the surface; it needs warmth to germinate.

  2. 7–14 days after “Sow Seeds Outdoors” · Mid May

    Check Germination

Seedlings should appear in 7–14 days. If sown outdoors, thin to 15 cm apart when big enough to handle.

  3. 26–47 days after “Check Germination” · Early June – late June

    Start Harvesting

Pinch off shoot tips with four or five leaves; it regrows quickly.

  4. 60–90 days after “Start Harvesting” · Early August – early September

    Finish and Clear

Clear the remains to the compost heap once cropping ends.
